TODAY, THERE ARE 59.9 MILLION PEOPLE DISPLACED WORLDWIDE. 

 

AT THE END OF 2014, THERE WERE 19.5 MILLION REFUGEES WORLDWIDE.

[that's more people than at any time in history since World War II]

 

CONFLICT AND PERSECUTION FORCE AN AVERAGE OF 42,500 INDIVIDUALS PER DAY TO FLEE THEIR HOMES.

 

AROUND 190,000 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED AND 10.8 MILLION  PEOPLE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE INSIDE OF SYRIA.

 

AT LEAST 1.66 MILLION PEOPLE SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS FOR ASYLUM IN 2014, THE HIGHEST LEVEL EVER RECORDED.

 

DEVELOPING COUNTRIES HOST OVER 86% OF THE WORLD'S REFUGEES.

[compared to the 70% ten years ago]

 

IN 2015, 51% OF REFUGEES WERE UNDER 18 YEARS OLD.

[this is the highest number of child refugees in more than a decade]

 

IN LATE 2012-2013, RAPE BY REGIME FORCES WAS REPORTED AS THE PRIMARY REASON REFUGEES FLED TO JORDAN AND LEBANON.

 

ESTIMATES SHOW UPWARDS OF 85-90% OF CIVILIAN DEATHS ARE COMITTED BY AL-ASSAD'S REGIME.
